About us

My name is Imari Mestey, I am the founder and creator of Alimar Cosmetics. I wanted to share some of my backround on how and why I began my journey in the beauty and wellness industry. Since I can remember I always had a true passion for "all things" beauty.

My journey commenced in my early teenage years. My first job entailed assisting at beauty salons, from cleaning the floors to hair blow outs. I was excited to work in the environment and always wanted more. I later proceeded with hair and makeup house calls in my neighborhood as I attempted to continue to perfect my skillset. Fast forward to some years later, fell into the grind of "working for the man/woman," and lost my focus but never lost my passion! I moved to Chicago in my early 20s and decided to attend the Aveda Institute to further expand my knowledge and perfect my craft. This was the best decision I made! While attending Aveda, I was taught ancient beauty practices that entail using all natural ingredients, including barks, trees, and florals, among others. This woke up the true passion I had inside and drew me to my NEW true goal in the beauty industry. I love natural remedies! This is one of the reasons I fell in love with beauty & wellness specifically.
